The Global Diaspora Confederation wishes to extend its heartfelt gratitude to all who attended the Global Diaspora Humanitarian Forum on Türkiye-Syria Earthquake Response. Your presence and contributions have been invaluable in our efforts to support those affected by the earthquake.
The forum brought together diaspora organizations (DO) to discuss and address the issues faced by diaspora communities in emergency response while reflecting on best practices. Your active participation made the forum a success and helped fellow DO colleagues gain important insights and ideas on how to address the immediate and long-term needs of the affected communities, and for the development of future forums for DOs in emergency response.
We also want to express our sincere appreciation to the speakers: Senay Ataselim Yilmaz of Turkish Philanthropy Fund, Hazem Rihawi of American Relief Coalition for Syria, and Shaher Abdullateef of Syrian Academic Expertise, whose sharing steered the conversation.
Our appreciation goes to our IOM colleague for the updates on their response efforts.
We have seen the forum fostered a more collaborative dialogue and made the communication gaps closer amongst diaspora organizations. We will continue to grow our Humanitarian Hub with DOs’ help, taking into account on the priorities of fundraising and advocacy shared by DOs today.
Thank you for all your participation and contributions.
